I'm diving at Fish Rock Cave, Australia shortly and there are schools of very large grey nurse sharks that live there. Are these sharks dangerous to swim with? Should I be worried?

  1. I agree with the previous answer - nurse sharks are not (normally) dangerous.

If you don't go prodding them or annoying them you are totally safe from harm.

  2. All sharks are actually very friendly and do not attack humans. They only attack when provoked or when they mistake you for a seal or prey. nurse sharks are very friendly and have no reason to attack you unless u go stabbing at it's eyeballs. actually, u should be more hapy than worried to see sharks cos they are very rare. also, since they are resident sharks, they should be used to divers. so no worries and enjoy diving! =)

  3. no

    nurse sharks are harmless

  4. Not unless you provoke them. Just be careful to keep good bouyancy, not to accidentally kick them, etc.
