Divorced people, would you use a dating service?

I found out about this thing called It's Just Lunch. They set you up on dates that are typically lunch or an after-work drink.

But the thing is it's $1800/year? Do you think it would be worth it?! Would you try it?

I'm just curious what you all think, particularly 30-somethings -- I have not signed up for it.

  1. That's a bunch of c**p.  Don't sign up for that.  It just makes you seem desperate anyway.

  2. Pat pupupleease you don't need to sign up for this dating service just get your hot self out and about and you will have no problem finding dates...geez..

plus i seen you dance who wouldn't love that.. :)

  3. I went through Yahoo Personals and Match.  I was curious about It's just lunch, but wasn't doing the money.  I don't know that their clientele is any different than the other dating sites on the web.  I don't think it is worth the money.

I am very happy with my fiance, we are getting married in a few weeks.  We met through Yahoo two years ago and are very compatible.

  4. I have heard of these things too, however I still won't use them just how I am.  IDK y just weird to me but, I do have a friend that says it is interesting.

  5. That's a lot of money Pat, and you're a good looking guy, you could do better on your own!! :)

  6. I got a date on a similar site called "It's Just Munch".  That was only $10.00 and a (bumpy) ride home!

  7. What an absolute rip off, I'm sure you can find a man for yourself without having to pay.

I have tried web sites but to be honest they full of over sexed nutters.  Where are all the good men!

  8. I wouldn't it. I mean I'm all for meeting people on the web but man I sure as h**l won't pay for it haha

  9. Pay me $1800 a year and I'll set ya up. ;) No, I don't think it's worth it.

  10. It's a marketing ploy taking advantage of socially awkward people.

If you need that kind of help, $1,800 might be worth it. If not, then yes, it's a rip-off

  11. I don't think you would need that sweetheart. You are such a cutie and such a sweetie that I am sure you won't have a problem finding dates. :-)

If you want to try and broaden your horizons, try Yahoo personals. I have a few friends who have had good luck there.

  12. 1800 oh heeelllllllllllllllll no.  lunch better come w/ a bj and a smoke

    thats insane.

i did run the computer dating gauntlet for a while.  it does give you the opportunity to talk to people whom youd probably not meet otherwise.  try yahoo or match for a month like 25 bucks before you go shelling out that kind of dough.

  13. My personal experience and what I have heard from others was not favorable. A couple of my friends have used It's Just Lunch, and they had mostly bad things to say about it. I used another (very expensive) dating service, with the same result. My impression was that it's an elaborate rip-off. If they really did what they promised (i.e., listened to you, to what you want, and tried to match you up with someone compatible), it wouldn't be so bad. But, at least in my case, they ignored even my most basic "requirements"; for example, I asked not to match me up with people in the military (nothing personal against military folks, but it's just not for me) - well, my 2nd or 3rd date was a marine who was getting ready to be shipped out to Iraq; I was like - WTF? Basic stuff like this.

I would recommend you save your money and try online dating. You will have much better results selecting people yourself.

P.S. I met my husband through the online personals.

  14. I haven't used the service but the quality of people would be much better.   They do a background check on most of the people so it eliminates alot of the junk that you may have to otherwise sort through.   Give it a shot.   You may find that you could have spent $1800.00 dating alot of different women to find the right one or you could spend $1800.00 and find a great one.   Give it a try
