Yeia sas,

I'm sorry to ask such a sad question. But with divorces in Greece, do they normally give the custody to the mother if she is a good mother who doesnt drink and has a very respectable character? I am only a housewife so I dont have a job, but I can't save my marriage I will get a job, and I will have the support both emotionally and financially from my family, specifically my parents.

Joint custody I am fine with, I just don't want them to take away my daughter and I don't want my husband to be in the power to take her from me.

What are your experiences with friends or family who have had divorces in Greece, or yourself?

By the way, I am trying very hard to make my marriage work, but in a fight I had with my husband today he said that if I leave him, to not think for a second that I could take my daughter with me. It just scared me thats all.

  1. Good luck with everything :)

  2. Hello. The custody is given to the mother, ( apart from when the mother takes drugs, of mentally she is not OK) so don't worry. The child will stay with you up to the age of 18. Join custody in Greece usually means that the child - children spent weekends and some holidays with the father, so that means you will have to stay in Greece so the child gets to see the father. I suggest to go to a layer. Your husband maybe has already done that, you should make sure that the child will be safe and out of the procedure ( no fights, no threads) maybe you will have a chance to end your marriage as peaceful as possible.
