Dixie Strike set to stand first Queen’s Plate Stakes
Dixie Strikes is all set to seal a sterling success in the Queen’s Plate Stakes (Conditions) (3yo Canadian-Breds) (Polytrack), a high-voltage Canadian contest that will be held at Woodbine racecourse on Sunday, June 24. The event is scheduled to begin at
10:36 (GMT).
On the fast track of 1 mile and 2 furlongs, the Mark Casse-trained bay filly will show her guts against 13 competitors including River Rush, Peyton, Macho Whiskey, Strait Of Dover, Classic Bryce, Wilcox, Golden Ridge, Ultimate Destiny, Colleen’s Sailor,
Making Amends, Big Creek, Washington Dash and Irish Mission.
For the cash prize worth £379,747, Dixie Strike will perform to her utmost on the track she has run on most of the time in her career.
The three-year-old young and enthusiastic sprinter debuted in September 2011 and finished second in each of her first two races. She moved ahead to bag a couple of consecutive triumphs in the subsequent starts.
The brilliant daughter of Dixie Union out of Noble Strike went on to get a third and a fifth during March-April 2012. She accomplished a grand victory on May 13 and finished 5th in her last outing on June 3.
Overall, the skilled filly has won 3 of her total 8 starts so far. If she manages to sustain her stamina, she will surely win again today.
However, she will have to face a little resistance from Strait Of Dover and River Rush. Each one of the duo has won one race so far.
Strait Of Dover staged a stunning debut on May 12, 2012 and finished first against 5 rivals. The Daniel J. Vella-trained bay and brown colt has elegantly proved his class with this only race.
The same goes with River Rush who debuted on June 3 and notched up top spot against 10 competitors in his only outing. The Reade Baker-trained bay colt poses to be in good form at the moment.
Thus, there will be a tough tug of war in the race. There will be many turning points in the event. Just get ready to enjoy an exciting action in the Stakes.  Good luck to all the runners who are lined up to sizzle at Woodbine.
