Dixies Air dominant in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic – Semi-Final 2 at Monmore
Monmore will become home for the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic – Semi-Final 2 over 630 metres flat on Monday, 18th June. Contesting for the £200 prize money are Westmead Maldini, Rusheen Major, Dixies Air, Jazz Apollo, Swift Reagan and Granard Bound.
Leading with the best credentials is Dixies Air, Head Bound’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Hondo On Air. His first experience of the 2012 season was to get trained and then claim the very next two races.
He won a 462 metres race at Yarmouth on 23rd January by making it to the other end of the wire in 27.99 seconds and led by three and a half lengths. His straight second success of the season was in the Betdaq Premier League Round 2 Leg 1 Puppies on 28th January at Yarmouth over 462 metres.
The 10/11 favourite of the race timed the track distance in 27.79 seconds and led the runner up, Farloe Logan, by eight lengths.
His till yet last four attempts of the season have been pretty impressive with three claims out of four starts. On 25th May he won the Pick The 6-Pack On 017080 762 345 at Romford over 575 metres. The 6/4 favourite of the race went through the distance in 35.70 seconds and led the runner up, Perles Orchid, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position was Mays Harvestmoon.
His next try on 1st June at Romford over 575 metres went waste with a third position. The race was won by Copeland Robbie who took 36.09 seconds to race through the track.
7th June saw him winning a 480 metres race at Monmore. He reached the other end of the wire in 28.59 seconds and took charge of the final four and a half lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was Swift Reagan.
His most recent race and win was in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic – Heat 5 on 11th June at Monmore over 630 metres. The 6/4 favourite made it to the other end of the wire in 38.02 seconds and took charge of the final two and a half lengths.
His prospects of bagging a third win in a row are substantial.
