Dixies Craft in form to lead the line-up for the Coral Ladies Maiden (Duplicated) at Hove on 26th April
The Coral Ladies Maiden (Duplicated) will be held at Hove over 515 metres flat on Thursday, 26th April. Contesting tonight are Skippys Gem, Dixies Craft, Sparkling Sophie, Cleenas Louise, Karma Enda and Henry Jewel. The prize money set for the
race is £150.
The most convincing entry for the contest is Dixies Craft, Head Bound’s two-year-old black daughter out of b***h, Hondo On Air. She rolled into the season on 2nd January in a Grade A2 480 metres flat at Monmore.
Dixies Craft qualified as the runner up only after the 5/2 favourite of the race, Emirates Classic, took 29.04 seconds to race. She joined in second beyond the wire after taking 29.04 seconds.
California Chunk leapt through the wire third in line after the winner.
She met a horrible fate of a sixth position in the very next start and then sprung into form by the 24th of January. Dixies Craft finished the closest to the winner at Monmore over 480 metres. Reaching the other end of the wire before the rest
in 28.53 seconds was Proud Berry.
After the first three tries of the season, Dixies Craft was drilled over 264 metres at Monmore on 20th March. The two-year-old mastered the distance in 15.83 seconds.
The race right after the training session was a second score yet again. Dixies Craft parked behind the winner, Boris Johner, who timed the 480 metres’ distance track in 28.74 seconds and led by 1 ¾ lengths.
On 14th April, Dixies Craft finally struck the debut victory of the season in a Grade A2 480 metres flat at Monmore by clocking the track distance in 28.83 seconds. She led the runner up, Proud Pegs Peril, by a short head’s margin.
Concluding the race third after the winner was Corrig Blue while the 2/1 favourite of the race, Harrys Idea, finished in the end.
Out of the five races that Dixies Craft took part in, she was only able to win one. Experiencing victory after such a while will keep her motivated for adding more and besides that she is quite lightly race after getting trained which enhances her chances
of claiming the race tonight.
