Diy wedding invites?

Question

I am trying to find cute ideas of wedding invites to do myself. I love the longer ones that are like 4 by 7 or so. I cant seem to find one i like. Iv looked for days!!! my colors are Navy Silver and Pink. If you have a pic of a cute one or know where i can find one to use as an original to make my own please help. Thanks for your time!

Sounds like what you are looking for are tea length invitations (like this --> http://www.whiteaisle.com/mantilla_invit... ).  Try googling this and you should be able to find some examples and/or companies who can make them.

Go to JoAnns or Michaels and look for card stock paper. Its almost like fabric paper that you can print on. I used them for a bridal shower and everyone said they were really cute. I have taken thicker paper and then used the card stock to paste on top. Then at the top I tied a ribbon.

They also come in different colors and patterns.

Have you thought about doing a tri-fold invite? Like a brochure style. You can buy regular 8 1/2" by 11" thin cardstock, which makes it easier (no cutting- that's the complicated tedious part!) and cheaper (you can buy a big pack of it online or at a scrapbook or office supply store- you don't have to buy it by the sheet!). Get a bone folding tool at a craft store to help make the folds neat. It's a good idea to get a paper cutter too. Look for one with grooves in it, so you can measure accurately and press the paper into the groove with the bone folder to make a nice neat line to easily fold on. Then, simply print your info on the cardstock on your computer printer. On the front, maybe just your first names or a monogram, on the inside of the front, a poem or psalm, on the middle the ceremony info, and on the far right inside, the reception info. Then just slip in a small rsvp card and envelope. Tie ribbon around the whole thing when closed, fold a piece of tissue over it to help flatten the ribbon down, and stuff your envelopes. You can use the regular long envelopes, like business envelopes. I'd go with pink cardstock, navy blue ink, and navy and silver ribbon to tie them. They'll look really elegant. Or you could go with navy cardstock, but you'll have to print your info on lighter colored paper or vellum and attach it inside with double sided tape or glue sticks. I'm making mine this way with olive green cardstock and ivory vellum.

I know our Micheal's craft store has a good selection of DIY cards. I cant remember is they have the ones you need buy i would try there or another craft store like it. Im having a similar issue so i feel your pain.  Viel Gluck!

Try InvitationPaper.com ... I am getting married this September and got my invitations through this site.  They were reasonably priced and had a pretty big selection to choose from.
