Aida Arum Amanah, who is one of the young and aggressive shuttlers in Indonesia, finds a place in Women’s Singles second round after defeating her compatriot Febtria Adhisthiya Rp in first round clash at Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open 2012 on Monday, November
5, in Indonesia.
The impressive Aida, who has been putting in extra effort to find a good flow for the last few months, showed a great character on court in the first round and overpowered her higher ranked challenger just 32 minutes.
Aida was in terrific form on court as she spared no chance for her opponent to control the pace of rallies and grabbed victory in a striking fashion by ending up the match in straight games with a dominating total on the board.
The seventh seeded Febtria, on the other hand, was surprised with the positive and attacking play of her lower ranked opponent.
Being a higher ranked shuttler in the arena, Febtria could not cope up with the pressure and ultimately crashed out without creating any impact on her home fans.
In the opening set, Aida showed an amazing aggression in the arena from the starting points and started to dominate the pace without showing any respect to her higher ranked team-mate.
The hard-to-learn variations in Aida’s strokes helped her to continue her supremacy against her rival in the arena.
Aida progressed with a stunning speed in the starting part and remained in lead on the board until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game break, the lofty Aida stayed focused in her play and remained successful in maintaining a wonderful difference while executing powerful shots.
The positive and aggressive play of Aida helped her to secure the first game with a stunning 21-19 margin on score board.
In the following set, Febtria put in extra effort to play attacking badminton but she failed to shake the confidence of her lower ranked compatriot and remained struggling behind the board until the break.
After the break, Aida stayed on track without showing any mercy to her rival and managed to win the second set with a huge margin of 21-13.
The in-form Aida stamped her mark over Febtria in straight sets with a dominating 21-19 and 21-13 score on the board.
