Djarum Superliga Badminton 2013: Adrianti Firdasari crushes Shizuka Uchida in Women’s Singles clash
Indonesia’s experienced player Adrianti Firdasari showed her impressive skills and outplayed Japan’s Shizuka Uchida in Women’s Singles contest at Djarum Superliga Badminton 2013 in Indonesia, on Friday, February 8.
Firdasari, who is representing PB Jaya Raya badminton club, proved her mettle in the arena as she remained confident in the arena and easily outplayed Shizuka who is representing Unisys Badminton Club Japan.
The impressive Firdasari was in remarkable form as she took the bird from all areas quite early and easily finished of this contest in straight games with a convincing margin of 21-13 and 21-18 by taking just 43 minutes in the arena.
Japanese shuttler, on the other hand, failed to play her normal badminton as she could not create pressure on her local rival. She failed to raise her level of play at crucial stages and eventually went down in two sets without proving her mettle on court.
It was an interesting fight in the initial points when Firdasari showed attacking display of her craft on court.
Firdasari was incredibly quick in getting the bird early and she did not encounter any complication in placing her strokes in right areas.
It was Firdasari who did not show any respect to her passionate challenger in the first part and clinched a comfortable lead on score board.
Shizuka tried to play attacking badminton but remained unable to take charge of the game and remained trailing in the concluding part.
The positive and aggressive play of Firdasari assisted her to bag the opening game with a sound margin of 21-13.
Shizuka increased her speed to play smart badminton in the first part of second set and remained successful in matching the pace of rallies this time.
The local shuttler tried to build lead in the opening half but failed to push her Japanese challenger on back foot.
Until the one-minute interval, the both ladies were close on the score board as they played at the same speed and pushed each other in all areas.
After the break, Indonesian lady became aggressive and she took over the control from her challenger. She played with complete command at this stage and grabbed the second game with a reasonable margin of 21-18.
