Djibril Cisse and Federico Marchetti keen to join Lazio in the summer transfer window: Serie A news
Panathinaikos striker, Djibril Cisse, has revealed his desire of joining Italian outfit, Lazio, in the summer transfer window.
Cisse has been linked with a move to Biancazzurri for the past few weeks and the striker has now added fuel to the rumours by revealing that his agent is trying to tie a deal.
Lazio President, Claudio Lotito, last week revealed that the Italian outfit have held talks with the Greek side over a possible deal for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 striker. However, Lotito wants to wait for any deal to take place because
Cisse’s arrival at the club is subject to striker situation at Biancocelesti. The President is looking to offload one or two strikers to make room for the French international.
Cisse admitted that he is excited with the prospect of playing for one of the best clubs in the continent and he is hoping that a deal will take place soon.
Talking to the reporters Cisse said, "I speak often to my agent and I hope to hear new developments soon. I am fascinated by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.”
“Lazio is a club of international level, one that has won in the past and wants to continue to do so in the future. It would be wonderful to play in a team that will fight for the Scudetto and in Europe."
On the other hand, the agent of Cagliari goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Marchetti-c13477, has denied rumours that the Rossoblu have given his client an ultimatum to find a new club and he is hoping that the shot-stopper will join Lazio in few days
time.
“There is no ultimatum. He’s already agreed to join Lazio. There has been a handshake with Lazio President Claudio Lotito and the move will happen well before July 18.”
Marchetti has fallen out with Cagliari bosses and has dropped down in the pecking order of the goalkeepers at the club. The 28-year-old did not feature in a single game throughout the 2010/11 season due to bad relations with the
club president, Massimo Cellino.
