http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 striker, Djibril Cisse, insists that he is happy at Stadio Olimpico Rome despite his struggles at the club.
Cisse joined the Biancocelesti from Panathinaikos in the summer transfer window, but the striker has failed to make an impression at the club. The Frenchman has scored only four goals in 24 appearances so far this season, compared
to 47 goals he scored in 61 matches he played for the Greek side.
Despite the struggles, the former Liverpool star admits that he is enjoying his time with the club because he is living in a great city. The 30-year-old is not worried by the lack of goals because he believes that changing clubs
can take time to settle. He insisted that Serie A is different to other leagues because it involves more technical ability.
While talking to the reporters, Cisse said,
“I’m happy here because I am living in a great city and I’m playing for a great club. My lack of goals? Well, it is tough but I will continue to battle. Saying that, it is difficult to demonstrate your ability when you play just
15 or 20 minutes.”
“These situations can arise when you change clubs. You need time in order to leave your mark and to get to know your teammates. Serie A is very tactical too. I’m used to having a lot of space in front of me, but it’s more difficult
here.” added the French international
The former Liverpool star hailed his time at Panathinaikos, and insisted that the Greek side will always have a special place in his heart, but he is not regretting his decision to leave them in January.
Contrary to Cisse’s form, Lazio’s other summer signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049, has performed exceedingly well since his arrival at Rome. The former Bayern Munich striker has scored 10 goals in 17 league appearances for the Biancazzurri
thus far.
Lazio are currently placed 5th in the league with 33 points from 19 matches played so far.
