Zenit St. Petersburg have offered a three-year contract to the Montenegrin http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 national team striker, Luka Djordjević.
The St. Petersburg club have reportedly agreed with the 18-year-old on basic terms and conditions. However, Djordjević will sign the contract in August after further evaluations.
It is expected that the coaching staff will analyze the promising striker during the pre-season training sessions to decide whether to make a purchase or not. The first training session will be held from 15 to 23 at Tuscany.
Commenting ahead of his trials with the Russian outfit, Djordjević has conceded that he wanted to join FC Koln before making up his mind to join Zenit. Djordjević failed to join the German club due to age restrictions put
by FIFA.
The Montenegrin football went on to admit that he had also given an impressive trial at PSV-Eindhoven.
However, the promising forward has revealed the reason behind choosing the Russian Premier League club. Djordjević has insisted that Zenit have a superb coach, pointing out what the Italian tactician has achieved at Petrovsky
stadium over the years.
The St. Petersburg club managed to win Russian Cup, Russian Super Cup and the Russian Premier League twice. Zenit, meanwhile, managed to reach the pre quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League last season.
