  1. How much did you pay for the TV? It is a huge screen and if you didn't pay top dolllar for it the companies will often cut back of the screen resolution and frame refresh rate in order to keep their costs down. These could be responsible for the problems that you are describing

  2. hdtv and dlp tv only look good with high definition programs, regular definiton will always look blurry or pixalated, sorry :/

  3. You might want to change the of your cable box to make the picture HD. This will help with some of the picture quality. You also might want to change the AV cables connecting the box to your TV. If you use the coaxial cable to watch picture on your TV, then the quality is bound to be bad. In that case, you might want to get AV cables.

If none of these things work, then I guess I'll have to say that your TV, not the cable box, is messed up.

  4. It could be a low contrast ratio, it could be a low refresh rate.  It could be the fact the tv is at 1080 interlaced, the 1080p would have been a better choice.  Has resolution of the screen been changed at all? How old is the tv?  Has this problem occurred since day 1? The answer to these two question will tell you if it is the tv or not.  Is the tv still in warranty or even store return policy.  For piece of mine it might be a good idea to exchange it and see if the tv was a defective.  Some Tvs come out defective.
