  1. are you turning the source (satelite/cable box) and the TV with an all on button on a remote?  If so--try turning on the box first--count to 5 then turn on the tv.  If this works then the problem is that the signal source is not producing sync as quickly as the TV is looking for it.  TV ok then---source just a slow starter.
