The reason that I'm asking this is because I'm left to baby sit my younger cousins for just these 5 evenings, &there like 12,8 & 10.When they want to go outside and play I have to be there, they ask why they cant just go out alone, and I just say that anything bad can happen.

  1. If they don't know already they should be informed about the dangers of pedophiles. Especially ones that are lurking on the internet. There are more now than ever. You probably have even met a pedophile and don't know it. I just watched Oprah and this boy was a p*****n and he was seduced and preyed upon and eventually became involved in pornography and a bunch of stuff!!! Tell them now so they know how to respond to pedophiles or any threats they may encounter. A lot of kids think they would know what to say and they say they would never trust a stranger but studies and experiments show that this is not the case. TELL THEM and TELL THEM they shouldn't be able to be alone until they are around 15 and even then there are risks....

  2. yea they should

  3. perhaps if you need to ask, you should not be in this situation.

       But yes, they know.

  4. im 13 + we learn about safety from them in school + home

  5. Most kids would , but it depends on how sheltered the children in question are....

  6. depend on the child but you should just explain the whole story to them. and explain good touch bad touch

  7. My daughter is 13, and she knows what those words mean.  Probably most kids do. But I think what you're saying is enough -- that you're going outside with them so you can make sure they're safe, because you're responsible for them while their parents are away.  You don't have to go into all the details of what could happen - they probably already know that.

  8. I'm 14, My little bro is 12 and knows those words.

  9. well im and i no what that means but an 8 year old idk bout that

  10. yes i do.

but i really suggest not using those words with them. they may not know and question you, just say bad people.

    :)

    hope i helped!

    :)

    have fun!

  11. yes i do know

  12. Do they know! There are some 12 and 13 year olds that are soon to be parents, and for guys, that is usually the time they learn how to "relieve themselves". Believe me, they will know.. and if they don't, simply telling them that they are people who may want to sexually hurt them.

I would count on them knowing though. By that age, they are in middle school, and those three years is when they learn most of the 'basics' of how to do what and what 'what' is.

    Good luck

  13. I did. Only because my parents told me.

Haaa and I loved to watch the show "to catch a predator" on NBC. <- - Yep, Imma weirdo. lol.

Uhh anyway.. if your that concerned about it. Tell their parents. What's the worst that could happen? they tell you their kids already know what those words mean?

  14. Yes, i think a majority of kids that age are aware of what those words mean.

  15. yes ofcourse they do!

  16. ah yea

  17. they may or may not depends on if anyone has told them.

  18. Well, when I was 12, I knew the terms pedophile and pervert(you learn this at around 10, but you never rreally understand what it means until the pothead hicks tell you and 10 and a hlaf, no lie). Not preditior, but I DID know the term predator (:

  19. yes

  20. um yeah

  21. Well I did at that age.

  22. well most of the time yes beacuse 12-13 year olds are geting more mature these days

  23. uhhh yes i found out at like 8... trust me kids know a lot more that what adults think

  24. Well, I did, you tend to hear such things at school. But if your cousins don't, I would not tell them the meaning. They need to ask their parents about that.

  25. yeah

  26. Most do yes...It depends on where they live at. Watch from a window. Tell them to stay in front of the house and to stay in a group and tell you if they go anywhere near by where you can't see them.

  27. some know but others don't...just tell them that something can happen and that you need to be there to protect them.

  28. yeah and alot more so I wouldn't worry about saying anything, I'm 13 and I have known those words my whole life
