  1. No.  Thousands of people would have died from lead poisoning if that were the case.  It's made from graphite.

  3. ni, what we cakk lead in any pencil is rally a form of carbon, called graphite.  It's made by burning natural gas in a low oxygen atmosphere

  6. No no pencils now a days have lead in it. The 'lead' in it is a mixture of clay and graphite, baked in a kiln, then encased in wood to make the pencils we have.
