  1. No they do not , Horses are dependent on their legs if one gets perminatly damaged the horses becomes lame.If a horse loses a leg it will be put down or die a long painful death..its very sad..i had a three legged dog that got put down recently..she was old and got around good with 3 legs ...but she was a dog...big difference

Yep. This one visits sick/old people. There is more info on him on the web if you want it.

  3. well the poster above me proved that it can happen, but it is very un-common and very unhealthy normally. Horses can usually not survive on three legs, but I guess if you put in enough money you can get a prosthetic. It would be equivalent to you standing on your middle fingers all the time. When one would have to bare more weight then designed to then it would have problems like abscesses etc. Very hard to accomplish.

  4. I think most of them get put down, if it would be too painful for the horse to live with only 3 legs.....

I think it would be the most humane thing to do. Those are huge animals, and I think it would be too hard for them to exist with only 3 legs...

I'm sure some cases might exist, when it's possible, but I'm pretty sure most get put down.

    I could be wrong, thou
