Do 9th graders take gates macginitie test?

I'm not sure what you are asking.  The Gates Macginitie test is a standardized reading test.  You posted this in homeschooling.  Every state and parent, has different requirements for what testing they do at various levels of education.  Some parents and states for that matter, don't require any standardized tests.  We generally give the CAT/5 tests or the Standford tests in my home.  I, personally, won't be giving the Gates Macginitie test.
