All jobs do not offer direct deposit.  It's not only major chains though, it's based on the company and where they bank.  Some banks charge employers fees for direct deposit if they don't have a certain number of employees so if really depends on each individual employer.

It depends, every job I've worked has offered direct deposit, and some have required it. I think most established businesses (not under the table) offer direct deposit.

Not all jobs offer direct deposit. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are but I guess a larger company would be more likely to offer it.
