  1. A shark would be hard to swallow.  ;-p

From what I could find on websites, it says they eat mainly krill sometimes they eat small fish and other sea life. I couldn't find what kind of small fish, other than Antarctic silverfish, but I'm sure there's other fish they eat too.

    Diet

Although winter data is lacking, the Adélie penguin is known to feed mainly on Antarctic krill during the chick-rearing season, supplemented by Antarctic silverfish and glacial squid.....

    Feeding Behavior (Ecology)

Adelie penguins, Pygoscelis adeliae, primarily feed in coastal waters, although some Adelies from northern colonies may venture farther out to sea. Like their neighbors, the Emperor penguins, they feed on small fish such as Antarctic silverfish and krill, particularly Crystal krill, Euphausia chrystallorophias, and Antarcic krill, Euphausia superba.

    Diet:

They are highly dependent on krill, usually Euphausia superba, although in some areas E. crystallorophias constitutes the dominant krill species. Fish and amphipods can be common in certain locations at certain seasons.

  2. Penguins DO NOT eat tropical fish.

  3. This penguin's diet consists mostly of krill. When krill are not available, the Adelie penguin has been known to eat Antarctic silverfish.
