Do African dwarf frogs breathe air or water?

I have an African Dwarf frog and half the time its in the water half the time its Head is sticking out of the water. Is this normal?

    also current thinking suggests u have a small area they can get out of the water but this hasnt filtered down to most petshops yet

  3. Yup, this is normal as they live underwater but come up for air every now and then. =) Cute eh?

  4. I had one too and it use to stick his head out of water too.  But most of the time he needs to be in water.  At least that is my experience with them.
