  1. ive gone to a few and they only asked for my street shoes size

  2. I would ask at your ballet school where you can get measured...

Most dance shops should measure, but there are some that just don't care, or do a poor job of it.

    So ask your ballet instructor...

  3. There is more to fitting pointe shoes than just a measurement.  Call your local dance shops and ask if they have a pointe shoe fitting specialist (someone that knows how to fit the shoes properly).  If the small local shops in your area don't have such a person or they don't carry several brands of shoes for you to try, you may want to take a drive to a larger city and go to a larger store that carries many brands of shoes and try lots of different ones on. Everyone has a perfect fit out there somewhere, it just may take trying on 20 pairs before you find the perfect shoes. There are also many types of toe pads that will make shoes fit differently. A good dance store will also have a variety of these to try on with the shoes. The perfect shoes and pads will make dancing on pointe much nicer!  Good luck!
