  1. Generally, the only way that an American Insurance company will get your prior medical records would be if you supplied them.

    If you have your records forwarded to your primary care physician, it is possible that any pre-existing condition could be revealed, but not likely.

    Most insurance companies will require a physical prior to covering you, if you come from a foreign country.  Of course, if you have pre-existing conditions that you don't reveal (i.e. you lie on your application), the company can later refuse coverage for anything related, or they can drop your coverage altogether.

  2. No they do not. That is why they will not consider insuring an individual if they have not been in the USA for at least the last two years.
