Do American sports seem as bad as American politics?

...lots of respondents here have low esteem for America

in politics as well as in Olympic sports

perhaps I can agree...but why is this such a low esteemed area?

The Main reason that people deem that the US has a low esteem is because our CITIZENS are allowed the freedom to express themselves PUBLICLY. Now the truth of the matter is the US DOESN'T have a Low esteem of itself, only a few vocal malcontents, many of whom are lazy and shiftless not desiring to work for a better situation.

As for the Outside world having a low esteem of us, tough. We have a free society and most of those whiners don't. We receive news from news agency from through out the world, UNFILTERED by our government, unlike the vast majority of the SUBJECTS of other countries.

No One Likes the US, but we can't keep enough Border Patrol Officers on duty to stem the flow of illegal aliens. And our Embassy's cannot keep up with the requests for Legal entrance into the US.

Several posters lately have an issue with the US regarding the Olympic games and the remarks about US thinking they are the center of it all. Gee, guess what, YOU folks are the people who keep the US at the Center of YOUR attention, other wise you wouldn't be continually posting about us. But since we seem to be the center of your attention, get a hobby, take up sewing, get a job.

It makes sense to compare politics to a sport but not the other way around. As a sport the olympics are not that important to most americans. American sports is all about money and advertising. Think about it ... its nothing but a bunch of stupid games and athletes get paid outrageous amounts of money not because they have a real job but because people watch.
