Do Americans REALLY have lower IQ's than British people?

I know that everybody says so but I'm wondering if it's just an urban myth?

The British are extremely erudite.  They have not lowered their standards in grade school or in college as is the case in the USA.

The 'dumbing down' of America is either done on purpose through lax standards, or it is occuring accidentally; yet the dumbing down of America is happening.

I believe IQ depends on the person himself/herself. not which country he/she belongs to.

dude that is insane i have yet to see any evidence for different populations having lower or higher average IQ's that was not directly related to cultural bias on the test or life long malnutrition. i think it is probably a comment on the low international rankings of the American education system.

The British are the ones that followed Bush to war. If you are following American foreign policy, what does that say for the British IQ. I think as the world goes, our two nations might have the lowest IQ, we definitely have lowest amount of compassion for the rest of the world.
