Do Americans generally care more about "American Idol" or the presidential election?

  3. Depends upon age: Under 25 they care more about American Idol, over 25 they care more about the election.

  4. I think that they *like* "American Idol" more than the presidential election.  I mean, "American Idol" is generally happy.  As a result of its vote, no taxes are raised.  No bombs are dropped.  It's just a harmless, peaceful way of rooting for someone whose singing you like.

    I think that Americans generally do understand that the presidential election is important.  They are bewildered though by the sleaze and corruption that comes with politics.  In general, they trust the process for crowning the American Idol more than they do for the one electing our ruler.
