its beacause they want to use a sh*t load of fuel and then invade another country when things are running a little low

The first thing I noticed on visiting America was the roads are much wider than European roads because Europe has a lot of history and roads have been built on exisitng roads that are centuries old. US roads are significantly newer hence many were designed with vehicles in mind and made wide enough to fit their gas-guzzling behemoths.

If you tried to drive a big US car in Europe you would probably wipe out pedestrians on many streets!
