This will surprise a lot of Conservatives. I posted a question to see how Canadians would respond, their responses were not what you'd have expected.

When asked this question:

"Do Canadians find it hypocritical when some Americans use religion to justify War in Iraq?"

2 of the 3 responses I received were in support of the rights of religious Conservatives in America.

Response #1:

No, from my understanding its Freedom of Religion, not Freedom from Religion.

People are allowed to have whatever belief's they so desire. You don't have to vote for your so called "religious righting fanatics". Just like they don't have to vote for your candidate. Why do other peoples belief's offend you so much?

I find most of your questions very silly.

Response #2:

The great thing about this country is that we have religious freedom which allows these people to say exactly those things. If that's how they feel, then good for them. It's not my place, or anyone else's to stop it.

The thing to note from this is that perhaps Canadians are not necessarily much more Liberal than Americans except on the issue of healthcare.

Do you think Canadians may be more moderate than we assume them to be?

  1. It's difficult to say that Canadians are moderate when we see so many of them bashing Bush and praising Obama.  I have already seen several Canadians who have simply torn into Sarah Palin with hateful spite.  Why?  What difference does it make to them?  Sarah Palin isn't running for PM of Canada, so what's the big deal?

P.S.:  I have many relatives in Canada, and I would still say that Canadians as a whole lean toward the liberal.  Not extreme liberal, but still more to the left of moderate.

  2. I don't care whether they are liberal.  Most other advanced industrialized countries have universal health care and other good social programs.  I don't know why we have such reactionary and silly attitudes among large segments of the population to worthwhile programs.

  3. hate the canadians

  4. Most nations, like most people, are much more moderate than we assume.

  5. It much like those that can views of Americans from the TV or the news.  Not necessarily accurate picture of the majority of citizens.  I use to see a lot of snow bird Canadians from Quebec in south Florida and jeshhh I couldn't wait for them to leave and inaccurately thought all Canadians were like them. After meeting several others from the various provinces and territories I know them to be as diverse as the American public.

  6. I don't think about the domestic politics of Canada.

Canadians can govern themselves and live however they want to, I don't concern myself with trival matters.
