Do Anacondas live in the United States?

Cause last night i was watching the history channel and they said how anacondas might pread around to the USA but to virginia because they wouldnt be able to survive in up in the northern area

  1. There have been confirmed sightings of large pythons across the South that aren't captive. There could possibly be an anaconda out there somewhere if someone released one.

    that was a good episode

    They were talking about how large python species have established a population in Florida, and that is true. They were saying that as the earth warms, they large snakes could reach all the way up too Virginia, and yes they could be potentially dangerous.

    Anacondas and they other large snakes of the tropics in the Americas are boas, not pythons, so they do not have an established population in the US. But I guess if the Earth truly is getting warmer, I would suppose they could also  travel north into the US.

  3. I have heard that some larger snakes, not necessarily Anacondas, have actually established small populations in the everglades because of owners releasing pets into the wild.

    According to this, Burmese Pythons could spread to where ever alligators live; as far north as North Carolina and as far west as Texas.
