yes, argentinians would be happy to be drawn with australia in their world cup group, they beat us by 2 goals in a friendly last year without even really trying

As travellers, Australians are one of the more welcomed.  Generally being happy, fun and respectful of other cultures, the Argentines appreciate Aussies.  There is also similarities in the love both countries have for sport.

My experiences have always been very positive.  It didn't matter whether I was travelling there by myself, not knowing a soul, as there was always someone who was interested in hearing about Australia once I struck up conversation.  

The people of Argentina are actually quite insular in their own country and don't take a lot of interest in the rest of the goings on in other countries (except maybe countries of the Mercosur with which they trade).  This is a gross generalisation!

If the Socceroos beat Argentina in the Olympics all this could change!  But then again, Brazil and Argentina are fiercely competitive in football and are politically more or less friends!

So, yes, Argentinians like Australians.

I was just in Argentina and they were so friendly.  There were tons of Australians there.  I am from the USA and they seemed to like my husband and I just fine.  So yeah, I think it's all good down there.
