Question:

Do Army Rangers get a top secret clearance?

I'll graduate from Texas A&M Army ROTC as a second lieutenant. I want to work for the FBI when I leave the military, but when I join the military I want to go to Ranger School. Obviously, it will be easier for me to get a job with the FBI if I already have had a top secret clearance.

  1. When you receive your commission you will automatically start to develop a clearance level - primarily based upon your assignments.  It's also pertinent when you apply for the FBI - that you already have had a background check.  One does not negate the other - and you will not automatically or more easily be considered because you've already had clearances.  It just makes the paperwork easier.

As for your career plan - its reasonable, doable and now its all up to you.  Both Ranger School and FBI training are hard work - but worth the returns.

  2. top secret clearance? if u mean they get to know top secret stuff NO! cus ur not in the army nemore.... and then if your talking about they are top seceret no....  Its easier to get a job if ur in the army ANNNNY way if ur in the army.. the leadrship skills is just amaisinggly helpfull everywere =D

  3. I think you're a poser to be honest.

And secondly, Ranger School doesn't make you a Ranger nor require a security clearance. The 75th Ranger Regiment requires a SECRET security clearance as a minimum, with some jobs within requiring TS or higher, the same rule applies to Special Forces. You can still generally find a way to apply for a TS if you're in a USSOC unit.

Focus on going to school first.... because you're thinking way too ahead of yourself. And I think I've seen you post stupid questions like these on here before.
