I have an 1998 E36 with a 318is badge. The VIN is WBACD62000NA41443 and when I enter it on this site: "http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.c... it says that it is a 318is...I'm trying to sell it at the moment and want to make sure its advertised properly. Is the engine a 1.8 or 1.9 litre? The back passenger seatbelts also come from the middle - is this normal? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!!

  1. The VIN tells us that it is a 318is sedan, built February 1998, European, right hand drive, automatic, with an M44 engine, which is a 1.9 liter. 138 HP, 133 ft-lbs torque, 6500 redline.

Odd about the belts, but I guess all E36 are like that. My E46 is the way you describe as normal. I never noticed that in any E36 I've been in, but pics show what you said.
