Do BT phones only work on BT lines?

Thinking of buying a bt mango phone - i'm with virgin - not sure if it'[ll work !!

BT phones WILL work on Virgin as they are designed for UK standards.

They might NOT work if you go to another country,    I live in N.Ireland, UK and we have a common land border with the republic of Ireland , if we take a UK phone down the road 2 miles to our friend's house, it won't plug in for starters, and if we fit an adaptor, it will phone out and receive, but NOT ring  !!!!!!!

BT phones will work on any UK landline providers network.

yes it will work on any UK land line as long as it is plug and socket and not hard wired, if you want caller display etc to work you need to contact your service supplier
