If I bought a USA Blu Ray DVD would it work on my UK PS3?

  3. A slight correction: a Blu-ray disk is not a DVD. They are quite different animals.

    Blu-ray disks may be region coded (not all are ... see link 1). If so they will only play on a Blu-ray player set to play the same region coding. There are only 3 codes though, A,B and C. See link 2. So, if the Blu-ray you bought is coded for region A (e.g. North and South America +) it will not play on a UK (region B) PS3.

    Note Blu-ray players also respect region coding on DVDs so a US DVD (Region 1) won't play on a UK PS3 either.

  4. Yes blu ray DVDs are region specific. So a DVD from US will not play on a UK or European Player.
