Do British Gas (Siemens) pay compensation for missed appointments?

A friend has lost two days pay because British Gas failed to keep appointments they had made in order to change his gas meter. Advice appreciated. thank you.

  1. Not sure, what I would do is get it touch with them and if you get no joy then go to the regualtory body (OFFGAS i think). I know that when sub contractors for Welsh Water failed to turn up for an appointment I received compensation £20/£25. Thing is I think it might be capped but if your friend has lost wages then I would suggest going to the Citizens Advice Bureau and seeing what could be done.


  2. I had 5 in 94 on the fifth one they actualy changed the meter!!! All i got as compo for loss of pay was ...............................

  3. i thought if was the national gas network that changed the meters.

    british gas,eon,powergen just charge you for it.

    Get your friend to write to them detailing that she has lost 2 days pay as a result of their engineers not turning up.

    Tell her not to let them fob her off and to state that she would like compensated for her loss.
