I think the Queen is fine, to be honest I don't really understand why everyone on Yahoo! Answers is so obsessed with the Royal Family. I mean she's the Queen get over it.

We need our Royal Family.

Without them our tourism industry would grind to a halt.

Nobody would be interested in visiting England without the Royals.  We have nothing else to offer.

Diana died through her own misadventure.  Nothing to do with the Queen.  Nobody in this country believes in the stupid conspiracy theories over Diana and we are bored sick of it.

The Queen effectively retired many years ago.  She is good at keeping jumped up Prime Ministers in their place.  Gives them sound advice, shame they don't always listen to it.  It would be nice if she stepped down in favour of her son, but she won't  as she sees it as a sacred duty to carry on.

When royals disappear from public life their popularity does go down at home and abroad. Which is why I would prefer Charles to be on the throne as he is more in touch with the people.

I think you have to respect the Queen.She's the last remaining head of state to have given active service during ww2 and over 50 years of service has never put a foot wrong.She has shown a devotion to duty over this long period of time that demands a high level of respect.The Diana affair is a separate matter and I'm sure the controversies over that affair will continue for many years to come.

I've nothing against her as a person. However she has inherited a lot of state wealth and her family are given a lot of benefits and tax breaks that are unnessasary for her position.

Edit: In my opinion, if she wants the ongoing respect of the country, she should be trying to hand back state assets to which she has exclusive use possibly to the extent of having to pay to retain her title (which in practice is just a showbiz style name anyway).

What the Brits need to understand is all that the Queen has done for them. She has long been a symbol of hope in hard times. Also, she as a monarch is pretty much the last remnant of the British Empire, and the British Empire rocks.

I don't think there is a need to dislike her, as you still have to pay for her whether you like her or not. As far as Diana is concerned, I understand that they didn't get on, but I don't understand why people won't believe it was an accident, not a conspiricy anyway.

I like her-she does a lot of work for her country, and believe it or not, she does her country a favour. Money comes in from tourists coming in to see her, etc. And she seems like a good egg.

Without upsetting you, more British people dislike Ronaldo than the queen-sorry!
