Do Britons realise UK is a laughing stock?

I travel quite frequently for work, into Europe, all over Asia, even Middle East

and overhwlemingly the anecdotal commentary, opinion, discussion etc- is highly negative and often ridculing the UK under this utter stinker child-eater tw@t Brown and his puppet-master Bliar (not to mention scouser slag Cherie- no offence Liverpudlians- but you must admit she's worse than Mam + Lilo Lil from Bread)

Other expats and fellow UK travellers I've encountered all agree the UK is an utter s**t hole right now, over-run by undesirables

I'ver been lectured to by Chinese, Indians, Indonesians, Singaporeans, Malaysians, Australians, Kuwaitis, Omanis, Iranians, etc about just how c**p they or their childerrn studying their found it- even compared to a decade ago.

When will the scales finally fall from our eyes and we see Labour has not only completely snookered us-

but we all deserve a much better deal than these Nu Lab spivs could ever produce?

  1. i remember talking to an Iranian bloke who had been here about 20 years and he said it wasn't the Britain he remembered.

I doubt that Cameron will make much difference

  2. h**l yes, and to remidy this? GET LABOUR OUT!

  3. Yes!I agree with you!

  4. are you talking about the uk or england,if its england please stop taking our identity away & call it england!

  5. phooey

  6. Yes we realise that - it is hard to ignore.  I have been trying.

  7. A little late into the fray, but one of the most joyful things about living in London is its diversity, our ability to laugh at ourselves, and to be intelligent enough to have no delusions about our place in the world, what we do, and where we stand on the most important issues.

We're a curious bunch - a combination of the old world and the new - and the best of us (Wherever we may have previously lived, if we're not native) have a deep love of understanding for our fellows with a conscience to match. Of course we have crime, "undesirables", rude & ignorant people coming out of our ears - but the important thing is not that we have them in larger numbers as society (particularly in the young) has changed, but how we deal with them in our daily lives. I would rather risk being stabbed on a Saturday night than be subjected to paramilitary police armed to the teeth roaming around the local Tesco's. I would rather put up with medical tourists, fake asylum seekers, et al leeching off our resources than see one person die because of lack of access to our facilities or a genuine refugee in dire need turned away to die. It's tough on us & our pockets, but we muddle through.

New labour has a LOT to answer for, but I'd like to think that in our own clumsy way, we'll set things to rights without going over-board in the next general election. I live in a nice area full of genuinely kind and intelligent people so I have little to complain about when I encounter the odd horrible t**d every now and then. Others might not see it that way, but I love London with all my heart despite knowing its many faults.

If we're a laughing stock, then we deserve it - particularly in regards to being the poodle of megalomaniacs across the pond - but our saving grace is always having the ability to laugh at ourselves.

  8. When the British go to Europe on Holiday, the Europeans may snear as much as they like at us.  They know that we've beaten the h**l out of them in the past and that we're quite capable of doing it all over again should we have to.

I'm not joking - I've just had a holiday in Paris and found the people to be charming and well mannered and not in the least anti-British - at least, not to my face when I'm spending my money and bringing a small amount of properity to their part of town.

  9. Well were not in the stand up line just yet...there is still America

  10. We need to start by geting out of the EU.

    Vote UKIP.

  11. Its been realised alright, but what can anyone do now? Don't you think too much damage has been done??

  12. you are a tw@t you think we care if sum other tards laugh at us? u seen our contry compared to theirs? way better, and they think we are bothered by some ppl laughing out of jelousy?  TW@T

  13. Inkskipp's got it!

  14. So...let me guess.  If Blair 2 ( The Cameron clone) becomes PM, then overnight you'd be happy and all these "people" you've met would instantly change their mind, despite not even  actually living here? Although having read some of your other questions it would appear that you are something of a closet neo-fascist, so, to be blunt, your opinion is worthless and beneath contempt . But anyway...

Nu Lab, or Nu Tory ? I cant tell the difference.

Its got nothing to do with Europe, despite what the laughable UKIP claim. Its to do with us, the residents of the UK. We dont  care who leads us anymore, so long as they have nice teeth and look good on the TV. We dont want real politicians with real ideas ( which is possibly why Brown  is suddenly unpopular...its dawned on us that he's too much like an old style politician, the kind who thinks! He's nothing like that nice  Mr Blair!)... we want celebrities who fill out a suit well and dont bore us with things we cant concentrate on, like economics and stuff.

We get the politicians we deserve.

And as for "I've been lectured to by Chinese, Indians, Indonesians, Singaporeans, Malaysians, Australians, Kuwaitis, Omanis, Iranians..", well..those are all bastions of democracy, truth, and equality  and have never done anything wrong to their own populace , now aren't they?!!

  15. i agree.

& Mangy, many people are coming to live in the UK because they get a such a cushy free ride! the UKs notorious for it - not because they particularly love the country or people.

  16. course we do...... everyone hates us and is patriotic......

the countries that are hated the most, i.e france, england, usa, germany are the most dominant countries and the most threat to the world and so are hatted the most as are seen as a threat.....

but the big thing is we dont care about what people think of us... like the rest of the world cry, when bad things are said about there country we just agree and dont care..

  17. Yes, let's all vote for David Cameron and everything will be put to rights. I loved the Poll Tax... (please note sarcasm!!! Will add ellipsis, this might help)

What kind or right wing regime would you like to replace our government with? Some of the countries you mention have pretty questionable methods of controlling their populations. And as a Scot, I think my country has always been as desirable as England, thanks!

  18. Yes I have heard this to from many people.

I'm thank full my daughter does not live in this country.

  19. If those peoples children found it so utterly deplorable as you say then thank god they didn't get permanent residency!

I agree Nu-Labour have totally made this country a laughing stock but many people in some of the countries you mentioned are coming here in droves so there must be something good about the place, I suspect we are OK to take benefits from and to have our over stretched NHS abused then the cheeky fookers have the audacity to complain about our once great land.

I'm staying put to fight another day, we have some negative things happening in our country but we also have many things to be grateful for.

  20. i think that we know, we just dont care...take a look at some of the other countries out there, they make ours look good

  21. I wonder why all these people from around the world are giving their right arms to be able to get to the UK if it's all so bad. Their countries are no better. No free health, education and no benefits. Is it jealousy or what because their countries will never come near the UK. As for the locals who are not happy with the country, it is up to all of us to keep up standards in the country

  22. The UK was screwed the day Blair and Bush fell in love.

  23. I'm quite happy with the way things are in Scotland thank you and I personally couldn't care less what Malaysians and Iranians think of us. To be honest though most people associate the 'UK' as England anyway so I'm not bothered.
