Do Bulls only mate with a particular cow once?

I heard somewhere that a bull can mate around 200 times a month but Never ever will they mate with the same cow twice? is this true?

  1. It's not true. A healthy bull will mate as many times as he can ever if it's with the same sow (female cow).  


  2. No. That would be a very foolish reproductive strategy - there is no guarantee that one mating will result in pregnancy. A bull will mate with a cow as many times as possible whilst she is in heat. This gives her the best chance of conceiving, and him the best chance of being the father of her calf.
