Do CD's get damaged or scratched in their cases ?

Question

what i want to know is,

do CD's such as PC game CD's get scratched if i always keep them in their case ?

and would they get scratched if i put them in my DVD-ROM ?

Disk may get scratched when in contact with a rough surface. So be carefull when placing them in CD cases and DVD-Rom trays as both can scratch the disk. But it is advisable to store disks in CD cases as DVD roms may heat up as you turn on your PC or Game hardwares.

Actually what matters most, is how carefull you are when handling disks, like placing and removing them from trays.
