Do Canadian Colleges (CIS) Basketball (men's or women's), or football teams ever play American Colleges?

  1. Seems to me that Simon Fraser used to play NCAA II basketball...not sure if that is still the case, though.


  2. CIS teams have pre-season basketball matches against NCAA opponents, I don't know the exact rules, but it's because of NCAA regulations concerning exhibition games that schools like Duke pay for the Concordia Stingers to come down and play them in a warm-up match.

  3. For basketball, I know the Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee Gees both played against the Louisville Cardinals and La Salle University this fall.

    there are exibitions

    it was the series between mcgill and harvard that introduced the style of american football played today in the 1870s

    (harvard won games 1 and 3 second ended in scoreless tie)

    both teams were sad to see the other leave after the wonderful hospitality they had in between the meetings.

    the american colleges at the time played a style more like soccer..  walter camp added changes in what became more like the game today
