  1. do you mean that you are looking to work in the US?

    to just travel there by land you don't require a visa - just a dl and birth certificate (at least until 2009).


  2. Yes.  Canadian (non-citizen) permanent residents require a visa to enter the United States unless they are a citizen of one of the countries that the US has a visa-waiver agreement with:

    Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and The United Kingdom
