I hate the United States. I was born here and I have ALWAYS hated it. It is so nice to see intelligent people planning to move. I love Canada. I visited often from Detroit. I love the people, the climate etc. And I love how they do things.

I will be recieving my Bachelors soon, and I know French in addition to English. I am also pretty educated on Canadian society etc. I know how to Immigrate, and am in that process now. What is the likelihood of a Canadian employer hiring a US citizen? Should I wait until I have a Masters so that I can have a better chance? I know Canada doesn't have nearly the amount of people that the United States does, so my question would be why should they hire me over someone else. I will say that I am extremely educated, and get along well with others, but most people would probably say that. Is a bachelor's enough?

  1. I don't know if it is routine, but there are plenty of US citizens in Canada.  Universities and hospitals hire people from all over.  Being really bilingual is an advantage esp. for business and government jobs.  A BA probably doesn't rate as "extremely educated", more like well educated.  Education counts, but so does work experience, get some of that too.

  2. It would depend on the job you are applying too, whether or not a bachelors is enough.

If they are looking for individuals they will hire the best person possible

  3. Canadian employers may not employ a foreigner unledss they cannot find  a Canadian or Landed Immigrant to take the job.

Be aware that the immigration procedure can take a long time.
