  1. nah

    not really

    that's an american thang

  2. Yes, they do.

  3. There is no universal system for grading in Canada at either the high school or university level. Different schools use different systems. Some do use the GPA, but even if they don't, they will know how to convert it into the system they do use. Neither my high school nor my university offered grades in a GPA format, but both of them would do a conversion both for students coming in and students applying from there to a school that required it.

  4. Yes we do.  THE GPA rating of 1-10.

  5. Yes, I go to University of Toronto and the GPA scale (from 0.0 - 4.0) is used here.  I assume that it's the same across Canada.

  6. Do you mean in grading their own students?

or do you mean in terms of looking at an applicants high school grades?

The first one, yes, they do use GPA. Some universities use different scales i.e. 0 - 4

    my university does 0 - 12

but obviously the profs and T.A.'s will usually mark with a percentage or letter grade.

For the second one, they usually look at your average in terms of a percentage. At least that's how it was when I applied.
