  1. So long as your not an evangelical bible thumper, and are not ignorant you probably won't even be asked where you're from.

  2. Generally we're pretty welcoming to everyone. I don't think many people here hold anything against Americans personally. Most of the ones I've met have been nothing but super friendly. I think it's great when someone wants to come and experience our country.

  3. From what we've heard here,  Yanks must expand their knowlege by 500 % to be equal to a Canadian.  Thankfully, I'm on the other side of the planet.

  4. I think you will not have many problems. Some Canadians can be very rude to Americans, but it's because they think Americans think the U.S.A.  is the center of the universe and don't know anything about Canada. The fact that you want to move here should be enough proof of your good attitude.

  5. It depends on where you move. I'm American and moved to New Brunswick and a lot of the people around me like to bash Americans. Not all Canadians are like that, some are really nice people.

  6. I think you`ll find that Canada is a great place to live.  If you do encounter any problems with somebody not liking you because you are American, it would be a rare occurrence and certainly not representative of Canadians as a whole.

Good luck and have fun in Canada!

BTW,  I recommend Southern Alberta, if you haven`t chosen a destination yet.

  7. Americans tend to fit in just fine up here. We're very similar people to you folks, and the fact that you show us the courtesy to come and visit us is a good start. Moving here, same deal. You take the time to move in to our towns and contribute to the community, so we assume you're not all bad. ;)

Basically, the stuff that gives America a bad rap internationally, we know that it's the US government and not the individual US citizen that's responsible for it, so we bear no hard feelings to the US people. You're just like us, after all!

Just don't push any hard-line evangelical stuff ... unless you're in Alberta. (Joking, joking, dear Albertans. You folks are alright.) Feel free to bash Quebec every now and then, though. It's what unites the anglophone provinces. (I'm not joking, Quebec.)

  8. Canadians in general do not look at your nationality but rather look at you as a person.

The truth is Americans can be pretty arrogant or cruel when they put down Canadians, saying things like Canada depend for their every survival such as economy and military defense. Also making themselves seem like they are better than Canadians and that Canadians are worthless. You get to hear these jokes all the time on American media and here on Yahoo Answers.

That is not to say that every American is like that, which is why  Canadians will look at you as a person. Sure maybe you will hear the American jokes here but hey if Canadians have to hear your jokes and they deal with it, they just don't care, I am sure as an American you can take their jokes.

Heard so many great things about how Canada is a great place to live, not Canadian would love to move there someday myself.

Hey even Bono from U2 is a fan

  9. if u move to canada..everyone will like you :)

  10. I am Canadian, I have never met an American citizen that I did not like, and I have met many. I am certain the vast majority of my countrymen feel as I do. God bless America.

  11. Canada welcomes immigrants. You'll probably just settle in. We have people from all over the world.

Warning - it takes a long time to get through the immigration process.

  12. We welcome you with open arms...here let me give you a hug..oh sorry could you please leave your guns at the border lol...
