  1. Today, yes, every single person is affected (or is it effected, I never know) by Original Sin. This is based on Holy Scripture and Apostolic Tradition.

Two historical and miraculous exceptions to this, also based on Holy Scripture and Apostolic Tradition, are Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Jesus Christ was completely God and completely man, the Incarnation. He was like us in all things but sin.

Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

When the angel Gabriel called Mary, "Full of grace," Mary was already full of grace.

When the angel Gabriel said, "The Lord is with you," the Lord was already with her.

The Blessed Virgin Mary was in a state of grace before she says "yes" to the angel's question and before the Holy Spirit came upon her for a different purpose.

When did Mary's state of grace begin?

Catholics believe this state of grace was with Mary since her Immaculate Conception. This means that Mary was conceived in the normal way (not like Jesus) but that she did not inherit original sin.

With the grace of God and without the effects of original Sin, we believe that Mary did not commit personal sin at any time during her life.

God prepared her for her later role as the mother of Jesus.

Catholics celebrate this miracle on December 8 as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 490 and following: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/p...

Edit: Yes, with the grace of God some people truly transform enough that they sin no more. This does not mean that they are not longer tempted.

    With love in Christ.

  2. Yes, each and every one of us is born imperfect. This is the result of the fallen condition of mankind. The grace of God is the only thing that can bring us back to perfection

  3. Yep.

  4. born imperfect but through the grace of god they can become perfect.

  5. I think that's a general Christian belief, not just Catholic.
