Question:

Do Comcast Set-Tops have audio issues?

I just finished installing a small Television and speaker system in our bedroom, and everything works good, except the audio from the comcast box. The video is fine, but the audio on some stations is decent, and on other stations, it is literally none existent. What's even more confusing is, some stations will only come in with one channel, either left or right. I tried unhooking one RCA to see if it helped, and it seemed to solve the issue, so what is causing this?

  1. You might want to take the box back to Comcast and swap it for the newest version - or call Comcast customer service -

If your cable box has red & white (left & right) rca audio out jacks, you should be receiving both signals on the majority of channels -

I've had the living room hooked up to surround sound for over ten years and the bedroom hooked up to surround sound for about five with no problems -
