Do Cops Hate Being Called Cops

Question

A few months ago I was with a friend and he was pulled over for speeding. The whole traffic stop went well, but it seemed that when my friend would call him a cop he would get pissed and tell him to be a little respectful. Theres a show out there called cops Im sure everyone has heard of it, and often times on that show police refer to themselves as "cops"

i dont particicually care for any type of law enforcement. so when i call a pig a cop he should take it as a compliment. seeing that they work 4 the general public they dont espically treat the people(public) they work for very well in general.                        Scott T.
