Do DVD recorders play Dvd's that I've downloaded off my PC?

If you put them onto a proper DVD disc then yes

If you convert them to dvd format and put them on to a proper dvd disc then it should work just fine.

If you have converted them to a dvd format since most movie downloads are in avi format.  Some programs I have tryed with success are cucusoft it is a avi/dvd convertor.
