  1. Your plan is nor-bore.

  2. If you are second guessing yourself by asking opinions then the ansers is YES

If you only need 25, I think you might be better off going to a print shop and purchasing nice parchment paper and do them yourself on your computer.

Will save you $$ and you will have really nice paper - which is really the indication and measure of if something is cheesy / cheap or not.

Dont do the dollar store thing - not worth it .  You want to feel proound of what you send out and you can do this without breaking the bank.

Congrats and good luck.  have fun planning!!

  3. Make them yourself. Buy the software that helps you make invites. Or you could even look online. There are a lot of places that make cheap wedding invites. You could even order the "save the date" cards and just re-word them to look like invites. Don't go with dollar store things. I know its a money saver, but this is your special and you should splurge on nice things.

  4. as long as it's not for a wedding, yes, of course.  the cheaper the better!!  You only need 25, you will get a better deal at a dollar store, and pretty much the same quality.

  5. I actually gasped when I read your question. Nay. Spring for some proper invitations.

  6. You can purchase regular wedding invites from the craft store or walmart that look like the high dollar fancy ones that you would have to pay alot of money for.  You print them out using your own printer.  I got 100 of the invites for around 30 to 40 bucks(I got them on clearance).  But they do have a set that has 25 in them for 20 to 30 bucks depending on the style you want.  The craft stores like Michaels or Joann's always print ads with 40% off coupons, so use that to help with the cost of the invites.

I personally would not use regular party invitations.  Your throwing a fancier party than just a get together or birthday party.

  7. if they dont' look too plain. you want them to look as weddingish as possible. So I would say "yeah!"

  8. If you only need 25 invitations, I think you should put a little extra into them and get them specially made.

In fact, www.etsy.com has some excellent cards and I'm sure someone would make them custom for you at an affordable rate.

    Good luck and congratulations.

  9. I think it depends upon how casual your wedding is. If you're having a pretty laid back and casual wedding, I'd say go for it. Otherwise I'd spring for something a little better.

You don't have to spend an arm and a leg on invitations. Stores like wal-mart and staples have invitation kits where you can print them on an ink jet printer.

  10. yeah

  11. The ones with the silver hearts on them? They don't look 'cheap' I mean they have a design on them for crying out loud and most places sell plain white invitations for much more.

  12. No not really. Wal-mart though sells the whole wedding invitation kit for under 20 dollars. I have made lots of invites for weddings off of the kit from wal-mart. Congrats on getting married!

  13. They would work, but I would probably go buy a kit from Michael's or an office supply store.  They are fairly inexpensive and would probably be on a heavier paper.

I tend to avoid using dollar store note cards because the paper just doesn't seem very nice.  Sometimes I've gotten a nice pack, but most of the time they are pretty flimsy.

    Best wishes!!!!!!!!!

  14. Dollar Tree invites are just great.  While your there.  Pick up a little spool of ribbon and a punch.  You can punch 2 holes close together and tie a piece of elegant ribbon through the holes and  make a bow on the invite.    Or you can get a glue gun and add a bit of beaded ribbon or somesort of dangle.

Write nice and neat on your invite.  Also, exact cut little squares of tissue paper inside the invite also add a bit more elegance.  Have fun... and good luck.  Designing on a $1 can be fun....

  15. go for it.  I got a set at walmart for like $30 and had most of them left over...I only needed about 20 too...and then I ended up not using the RSVP cards or envelopes so it was a waste.

  16. You just have to be selective with their merchandise;  some of them feel cheap but others are all right.

You could spend a little more, type up your invitation & take it to a big office store & print them on some sturdier paper; about 10 cents a copy plus the paper.

You can get paper & envelopes at Michael's Crafts/Hobby Lobby, a large fabric/craft store or Walmart craft dept.  They don't have to be on wedding invitation blanks to be attractive.

  17. The wedding invitation is the first thing your guests see regarding your wedding.  Its their first impression of your wedding.  It sets the tone, the style and the formality.

If it costs a dollar, it looks like a dollar.  You get what you pay for.  Spring for proper invites.

  18. I haven't seen their invitations but I do know that they have the CUTEST gift bags for a dollar.

  19. Uhhh everything from a dollar store looks cheap. But they're  good for stuff like that. Who the h**l wants to spend a lotta money on something like that
