  1. I would think so... but, I'm assuming this is your first baby? As someone who has experienced the mega-contractions brought on by "pit" as we labor vets call it (I've been induced 3 times)... don't rush!!! I know you're excited - believe me :o) But, you do NOT want to have pitocin if you can help it. TRUST me on that.

    Congratulations and Good Luck! :o)

  2. Dr. tend to keep their word when the initial assessment of your situation / condition / in that case childbirth is validated by their assessment priot to following through.

Meaning a good doctor will always make sure that everything is alright to progress forward - All these questions should be for your doctor. He or she should answer them frankly - If you trust this person with bringing your child into this world then trust them to answer your direct question. Ask the doctor if she will induce and when - since you want to have certain family members present. The doctors know and understand this - they get these types of questions all the time. They should not be disturbed by it because for you it may be your first or second time - of course for them they have done this several times and should want to make you as comfortable as possible with understanding what is going to be done and when.

  3. most doctors do keep their word, the doctor needs to check on you, and may change her mind if your health is ok.

  4. If she said she'd do it this week and your appointment is tomorrow, be packed and ready to go.  Good luck!

  5. Doctors usually keep their word but remember they are people too. Talk  to them.

  6. I would imagine so.

  7. if they made the appointment then duh!!! that's what they make appointments for.

  8. This is what worked for me and my Dr. when we had previously spoken about induction.  I went in for my visit and simply said, "So, do ya think we can induce today or tomorrow?"  I was induced the next day.  Worked for me and hey, no loss trying, right?

  9. haha if its the right time.  if not, you wouldnt want to risk anything going wrong over a promise would you? lol

  10. Its possible that you will be induced tomorrow. When she give you the exam and you're not making any progress, then she'll decied exactly when she'll do it. If you're making progress, then you won't need to be induced. You still have a couple more days left in the week...

  11. Yes the try to stick with it.  The only time they have to change it is if there are to many deliveries that happen (as in woman going into labor naturally) or they end up with emergency c-sections then of course they have to move inductions or scheduled c-sections around but in most cases it happens the week they tell you.

  12. They should have put you on the schedule for a hospital bed, however, inductions are not top priority so if there are no beds, your induction may get pushed back until there is one. Women who are in labor will take precident.

    Good luck!

  13. Sure she will.  However, she can not induce you unless you are at the hospital and ready to have the baby.  So unless you go into natural labor, your 10 am apt tomorrow could be D Day!!
